We've stayed here three times — and popped in once more just for the breakfast buffet — and every single visit has given us a different reason to love the place.

Located along Crisanto M. Delos Reyes Avenue in Brgy. Kaybagal, Tagaytay, Hotel Kimberly is tucked a little off the main tourist strip, but it's never felt "too far." It's still just a short drive from spots like Sky Ranch and Ayala Malls Serin, so you get the peace and quiet of a countryside resort without losing easy access to the city center.
Here's our honest, detailed review on Hotel Kimberly Tagaytay based on three stays across the years (plus one breakfast-only visit), covering the rooms, the pools, the farm, the food, and a few things worth knowing before you book.
A Hotel We Keep Returning To
I honestly wish I'd kept better track of the exact years, but here's the timeline as best I remember it: our first stay was when my son was just 5 years old, our second stay came a few years after that, and our third and most recent stay was just this July 2026. Somewhere in between all of that, we also dropped by once with family and my best friends — not even for an overnight stay, just to enjoy their breakfast buffet.
Each visit gave us something different to enjoy, from the room we booked to how much my son had grown and changed by the time we came back. That's really the heart of this review — not just "is Hotel Kimberly good," but how it holds up across different stages of a family's life.
The Rooms: Family Room vs. Junior Suite vs. The Lodge Suite
We've actually tried three different room types across our stays, so if you're deciding which one to book, here's how they compare.
Family Room (1st stay) — This was super spacious, with a bathtub my son absolutely loved at the time. The room faced the highway, but don't let that worry you — the hotel has enough distance from the road that it's not noisy at all. The only downside is the view; there's really nothing much to look at from that side.
Quick disclaimer: this stay was quite a while back, so it's worth double-checking with the hotel whether the Family Room still comes with a bathtub, since rooms may have been renovated or updated since then.
Junior Suite (2nd stay) — Smaller than the Family Room, but it more than makes up for it with the view. It faces the pool area and has a nice balcony. This turned out to be a happy accident during our stay, because the hotel's movie night was being screened right at the pool area, and we ended up watching the big screen in the privacy of our own balcony.
The Lodge Suite (3rd stay) — This is the most spacious of the three, and it comes with a higher price tag than both the Family Room and the Junior Suite. That's partly because The Lodge is its own separate building, just a few steps away from the main hotel, though it still sits within the property, so you get a bit more privacy and quiet compared to staying in the main building. It has a beautiful bathroom with a tub and a generously sized private balcony. Just one heads-up here (more on this below): the bathtub didn't seem to hold water properly when we tried it.
The Pools: Great, But Heated Pools Would Make It Perfect
Hotel Kimberly has multiple outdoor pools, and overall the pool experience is genuinely great for families. If there's one improvement we'd love to see, it's more heated pools — Tagaytay's cool weather makes a heated pool a big deal, and right now only the smaller kiddie pool is heated.
That said, the bigger kiddie pool (aqua slide) is still super inviting, especially for younger kids. If your child is small, they will absolutely have a blast there.
One thing we did notice and really appreciated: the pool near The Lodge is labeled "Salt Chlorinated." This matters more than people realize — it didn't dry out our skin the way heavily chlorinated pools usually do.
We even noticed a few birds playing in the pool's small fountains, and some were drinking from it, which is a good sign that the water isn't loaded with harsh chemicals. We're not sure if the pools near the main hotel building are also salt chlorinated — we didn't catch the signage there — but if you're picky about water quality like we are, it might be worth asking staff directly.
The Farm: A Must for Kids (and Kids at Heart)
The farm area is genuinely one of the best parts of a Hotel Kimberly stay. It's simple, but it's spacious enough that both kids and adults can enjoy it, and feeding the different chickens, ducks and geese never gets old.
On our first visit, we got to pet the sheeps, which was a highlight for my son.
A few years later, on our second stay, not much had changed at the farm, and we were a little sad the sheep weren't available for petting that time around.
But on our third and most recent stay, we were delighted to find a baby sheep trying its best to blend in with the rest of the animals.
We also got to see a few iguanas up close, kept safely in their enclosure.
Fun bonus story: on our very first visit, we ended up buying two bantam chickens, which my son proudly named Hen and Rooster.
Little Design Touches We Love
Whether you're staying at the main hotel building or at The Lodge, one small detail stood out to us: the walls are designed with little birdhouses built into them. It's a small, charming touch that adds character to the whole property and makes it feel less like a generic hotel and more like a countryside retreat.
Food, Milk & Cookies, and That Ube Champorado
The food at Hotel Kimberly is great and genuinely kid-friendly — my son is a big fan of their cheese pizza every single time. Their restaurant, The Kitchen, has been consistently good across all our visits.
A small touch that made a big impression on our kid: on all three of our stays, the hotel brought a glass of milk and cookies for him. It's such a simple gesture, but it made him feel genuinely special every time.
The breakfast buffet also deserves its own shoutout — especially on our third stay, when they served ube champorado, which was a delicious and unexpected treat.

Activities for Kids (and What We Still Want to Try)
Beyond the farm and the pools, Hotel Kimberly has a spacious playground that younger kids will definitely enjoy. The bonfire is another great experience — we got to do this on our second visit, and it's the kind of simple, cozy activity that fits perfectly with Tagaytay's cool evenings.
We haven't tried horseback riding yet, even though it's offered on the property — that's on our list for next time.
The hotel also has a ropes course on the property, in case that's more your kids' (or your own) speed.
A Sweet Send-Off on Our Latest Stay
Our third and most recent stay, in July 2026, hit differently because my son is already much more social now. He casually chatted with staff and asked them all sorts of questions, which had the staff laughing at times.
Before we checked out, after my son had "essentially interviewed" the front desk staff, they surprised him with a free capybara stuffed toy. It's these small, thoughtful gestures that keep bringing us back.
A Few Things Worth Knowing Before You Book
No review is complete without the honest bits, so here's what we'd flag:
The Lodge Suite bathtub: When we tried it during our third stay, the water didn't seem to hold in the tub properly — it kept draining out. Given how pricey a stay at The Lodge is, it's worth asking staff to check this before you settle in, so you get the full experience you're paying for.
Heated pools: Only the smaller kiddie pool is heated. Given Tagaytay's cooler climate, more heated pools across the property would make the pool experience even better.
Distance from the main tourist strip: Hotel Kimberly isn't right in the heart of Tagaytay, but it's close enough that this shouldn't stop you from booking. The trade-off is a quieter, more spacious property.
